Los Osos Sandstone Hill To the east of Morro Bay lies this low sandstone hill formed of Pleistocene marine sedimentaries. Chaparral covers much of the hill but there is some oak woodland and grassland. The rare Arctostaphylos cruzensis is found here, as are Arctostaphylos morroensis and Arctostaphylos glauca. Marine invertebrate fossils are present. Integrity: There has been some quarrying at either end of the hill, but much of the vegetation is fairly undisturbed.
